There is a lot of excitement in theatres and on social media about Rajinikanth's latest release, Jailer , which is directed by Nelson. The film received an overwhelming response on its first day and is expected to break box office records. What's more exciting for fans is Mohanlal's cameo appearance , which has been highly praised on social media.
Malayalam film director Omar Lulu, who is known for films like Oru Adaar Love, has now shared his thoughts on the film. Omar believes that if Mammooty had played a villain in Jailer, the film would have grossed a minimum of Rs 500 crore at the box office.
Through a Facebook post, Omar posted, "Jailer marks a massive comeback for Nelson. Rajinikanth's swag is indescribable. Mohanlal and Shivarajkumar are on fire. As previously planned, if Mammootty had played the role of Vinayakan, the film would have made a double impact and would have made a minimum of Rs 500 crore."
During the audio launch of Jailer, Rajinikanth revealed that a South Indian actor, who happens to be his friend, was supposed to play the villain in the movie. But the plan was changed, considering the image of the star and the practical constraints of dealing with the character. Later, Malayalam actor Vinayakan was cast as the villain.
While Rajinikanth was speaking, Nelson appeared to be mouthing the name of Mammootty, leading some netizens to speculate that Mammootty was initially considered for the role of the antagonist.
Now, there is another version coming out about the actor that Rajinikanth spoke about. According to recent assumptions, the original villain was Telugu actor Mohan Babu.
Jailer is a comedy-action film that revolves around a retired jailer. The film has three big actors from different film industries: Rajinikanth, Mohanlal, and Shivarajkumar. Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Jackie Shroff, Vasanth Ravi, and Tamannaah Bhatia also appear in the film.
