It seems that the Jailer bug has bitten everyone across the country. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan took a break from his busy schedule to watch the movie, which has caught everyone's imagination in Kerala, starring Superstar Rajinikanth.

In a viral video, Pinarayi Vijayan could be seen walking into a multiplex screen along with his family members to watch Jailer. The CM's theatre visit is a small example of the kind of popularity that the movie is enjoying among the public.

However, Pinarayi Vijayan is not the first head of the state to rush to the theatre to see Rajinikanth in action. Earlier, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin watched Jailer in cinemas and appreciated the movie's cast and crew. "Thank you u so much honourable Chief Minister @mkstalin sir for watching #jailer … thanks for all the appreciation and motivation sir cast and crew is really happy with ur words @rajinikanth sir #kalanithimaran sir #kaviyamaran @anirudhofficial @sunpictures (sic)," director Nelson tweeted while sharing a picture of himself shaking hands with the CM.

Jailer opened to packed houses across the world on Thursday and it has since remained the top choice of the filmmakers in the country. Especially in Kerala, the movie has been receiving some unprecedented response for a Tamil movie. Even though Tamil movies are a big draw at the Kerala box office, Jailer has exceeded all the expectations of the trade.

According to reports, the stakeholders in the distribution chain in Kerala recovered their full investments in less than three days after the movie's release. And they have been raking in profits since Friday evening. The theatres are forced to run non-stop showings, beginning at 6 AM and continuing until 3 AM the following day. A lot of late-night and early-morning shows have been added to meet the demand for the movie in Kerala.

In just three days, Jailer has already become the highest-grossing Tamil movie in the state this year in Kerala. Superstar Mohanlal's cameo in Jailer is also adding to the movie's momentum in cinemas.
