Kalki 2898 AD, the futuristic sci-fi film directed by Nag Ashwin, is on its way to emerge as one of the biggest blockbusters of Indian cinema. The film, which features a stellar star cast including Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan, has been receiving immense love from the audience. Along with the common audiences, Kalki 2898 AD has also highly impressed film industry veterans, including superstar Rajinikanth. The Jailer actor showered praise on the film with a social media post recently.
The legendary superstar of Tamil cinema reportedly watched Kalki 2898 AD along with his family at a special screening held in Chennai recently. Rajinikanth, who is highly impressed with Nag Ashwin’s film, recently took to his X (formerly Twitter) handle and praised the magnum opus and the team behind it with a heartwarming post. “Watched Kalki. WOW! What an epic movie! Director @nagashwin7 has taken Indian Cinema to a different level. Hearty congratulations to my dear friend @AswiniDutt @SrBachchan @PrabhasRaju @ikamalhaasan @deepikapadukone and the team of #Kalki2898AD. Eagerly awaiting Part 2. Director Nag Ashwin, who is on a high with the excellent reviews received by Kalki 2898 AD, is clearly overwhelmed with Rajinikanth’s reaction to the film. “Sir... speechless.... blessed.... from our whole team (folded hands),” wrote the talented filmmaker, who reshared the superstar’s X post on his official handle. The Vettaiyan actor’s reaction has also left cine-goers, especially Prabhas fans, extremely excited.
As the climax of Kalki 2898 AD suggested, the epic-sci-fi franchise created by Nag Ashwin will continue with more installments. In a recent interview, Kamal Haasan, who made a cameo appearance as lead antagonist Supreme Yaskin in the movie, confirmed that he has a full-fledged role in the upcoming Part 2. The second installment in the franchise is expected to focus on Prabhas’ character Bhairava’s redemption and, most importantly, the birth of Kalki. A major announcement on the same is expected to be out very soon.
