Superstar Rajinikanth recently attended an event to celebrate Meena, who completed 40 years in the film industry. During the event, Rajinikanth took a moment to reflect on his illustrious career in which he acted in nearly 169 movies. He fondly recalled working with his two favourite female actors, Sridevi and Meena, who hold a special place in his heart.
He shared, "Among the 50 or 60 heroines I've worked with, the most important to me and with whom I loved to work are two actors. If I name those two actors, the other heroines won't get upset. Because they all know why I loved to work with these actors. It's Sridevi and Meena."
Rajinikanth worked with Sridevi in several popular films including Moondru Mudichu, Johnny, and 16 Vayathinile to name a few. Speaking about his bond with the late actor, Rajinikanth shared, "Sridevi and I grew together in our careers. She became a big heroine and I from the villain became a hero. And we worked together in many movies."
He also recalled a funny incident from their initial days of working together, "Sridevi began her career as a child artist and when she was about 7-8 years old she stopped acting in movies and focused on her studies. She returned to acting with Moondru Mudichu (1976) when she was around 15 years old. I was at the Premalaya office when Sridevi came along with her mother. Boney Kapoor this is information for you. As soon as the director (Balachander) sir arrived, everyone stood up and greeted him. Sridevi's mother prompted her to say good morning (to the director). And Sridevi said, 'Good morning, teacher.' And I always made fun of her using that incident."
Meena, who was being celebrated at the event, has also worked with Rajinikanth in several films including Muthu, Veera, and Yejaman. Rajinikanth also praised her talent and longevity in the industry.
