Rajinikanth expresses solidarity with PM Modi's Swachh Bharat campaign: 'Let's keep India clean'

Superstar Rajinikanth on Sunday expressed solidarity with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's initiative 'Shramdaan for cleanliness' program of the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign. He took to social media pages to urge his fans to practice cleanliness in order to take the country forward. "A healthy environment begins with a clean environment..Let’s keep India clean… #SwachhBharat @SwachhBharatGov," he wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Swachh Bharat was one of the initiatives announced during the first term of the Modi government. A few days ago, the prime minister encouraged people across the nation to take part in a cleanliness drive on October 1.

Modi also took part in the campaign by joining hands with a fitness influencer and picking up a broomstick. "Today, as the nation focuses on Swachhata, Ankit Baiyanpuriya and I did the same! Beyond just cleanliness, we blended fitness and well-being into the mix. It is all about that Swachh and Swasth Bharat vibe!," Modi tweeted while sharing a video of him participating in the campaign.

Written and directed by Nelson, Jailer became the biggest-ever hit in Rajinikanth's career by raking in about Rs 600 crore from its worldwide ticket sales. Bankrolled by Sun Pictures, the movie's success could also be attributed to its star-studded supporting cast, including Mohanlal and Shivarajkumar.

After a terrific run at the box office, Jailer became available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

Rajinikanth will be next seen in Lal Salaam. Helmed by his daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth, the movie stars Rajinikanth in an extended cameo. Besides Rajinikanth, Lal Salaam stars Vishnu Vishal and Vikrant in lead roles and. Oscar-winner AR Rahman is composing the music for the movie.

Lal Salaam is set to release in cinemas during Pongal next year.
