During the recently held audio launch event of the movie, Rajinikanth finally addressed the rumours about his alleged rivalry with Tamil cinema’s crowd-puller, Vijay.

Rajinikanth says he is Vijay’s well-wisher

For the uninitiated, Rajinikanth narrated a ‘Kaakka-Kazhugu’ (Crow-Eagle) story at the audio launch event of his 2023 blockbuster, Jailer. Fans of Thalapathy Vijay, who watched the superstar’s speech, interpreted that he was taking a dig at their idol. The speculations became stronger after Vijay referred to the same during the Leo Success Meet event. However, the Lal Salaam actor, who addressed audiences during the audio launch event of his upcoming film, denied targeting Vijay.

The allegations against Rajinikanth have deeply hurt him, he said. He stated that many people have a false perception that he was targeting the Master actor with his ‘Crow-Eagle’ story. The veteran actor, who further added that Vijay is someone who grew up in front of him, said that he is a well-wisher of The GOAT actor, not a competitor. The superstar also recalled meeting Vijay for the first time when he was just 13 years old, on the sets of his popular film Dharmathin Thalaivan.

Rajinikanth remembered that Vijay was seated on top of a staircase and was looking at him from there when they first met. After the shooting, the Varisu actor’s father, director S.A. Chandrasekhar, introduced him to the superstar and revealed that his son is interested in acting. Rajinikanth had advised Vijay to complete his education before entering the film industry. The veteran actor feels that the his younger contemporary has become a superstar because of his commendable discipline, hard work, and talent.
