SS Rajamouli is all set to make a film with superstar Mahesh Babu, a fact widely known. Currently, Rajamouli and his team are scouting locations, with a significant portion of the shoot planned in Kenya. Reports suggest that a key episode will also be shot at Borra Caves, Vizag – a popular tourist attraction. Rajamouli recently visited the site with his team.
A source close to the production revealed that SS Rajamouli has scheduled nearly two weeks of shooting at the Borra Caves. Touted as an adventure thriller, the film will span multiple countries. K. L. Narayana will produce the project on a massive budget, with Hollywood studios brought on board for VFX.
Mahesh Babu is currently abroad, preparing for the role. He is set to appear in a striking new look for what will be his most expensive film to date. The project has also made headlines with reports suggesting Priyanka Chopra Jonas has been cast as the female lead. If true, this move is seen as a masterstroke, leveraging Priyanka’s global stardom to elevate the film’s international appeal.
A team member revealed that SSMB29 will be Rajamouli’s last film with Indian stars, as he plans to transition to Hollywood projects post-release. Filming is expected to begin in the summer of 2025, with a projected release in 2027.
Rajamouli’s family will play key roles in the production. His father, Vijayendra Prasad, has written the story, while his brother, M. M. Keeravani, will compose the music. Rajamouli’s son, Karthikeya, will serve as the line producer. Notably, the usual cinematographer, Senthil Kumar, will not be involved in this project. The recent location scouting in Vizag has generated excitement, giving fans much to anticipate.
