Rahul on reuniting with Priyanka Sarkar: This is the best time of my life

Rahul Arunodoy Banerjee had a tired voice on Sunday. He was also sleepy. However, he got back to normal on Monday. He shared his experience of shooting Srijit Mukherji’s Durgo Rowhoshyo in Madhya Pradesh. He plays Ajit in the Byomkesh web series for Hoichoi.  

Rahul set foot in Kolkata on Saturday at noon, after shooting for 20 days in scorching heat. In an interview with Aajkal Dot In, he described the shooting place as a “furnace”. The shooting took place at 50 degrees of temperature. 

Is the situation in Madhya Pradesh worse than that in Kolkata? Rahul answered, “It was scorching. However, there was one comfort in a sense. The weather is dry there, not humid like in Kolkata. So, we did not sweat. We can go on working.” They used to drink plenty of glucose water to cool off the body. They also ate onions and sour curd. The shooting started in the morning and ended in the night. But Rahul said that the labour was not taxing since it was a joint effort.

Rahul played Ajit in Arindam Sil's Byomkesh Gotro, where Abir Chatterjee played the sleuth. Sohini Sarkar played Satyabati. Now the director is different. Is the characterisation also different? Rahul cautiously answered, “I can say that Srijit gave me a lot of scopes to portray Ajit in my way. I love to discuss with him while working, this improves my work.” There was a bee attack at the beginning of the shooting. Rahul said that some of the crew members were attacked, and they got well quickly. A large part of the series was shot in Madhya Pradesh. The rest will be done in Kolkata. 

Did the shooting spoil the plan of a trip with Sohoj and Priyanka? Rahul agreed, “I could not go even if the trip were postponed. I had to stop shooting for television then. I was outside for a long time and could not work in the serial Horogouri Pice Hotel. I have to resume it now.” He slept for the entire Sunday. The serial's shooting started on Monday. he has a new life, and he is busy. He was reunited with Priyanka and Shohoj. Is he enjoying life? Rahul had a huge sigh and said, “My life changed in the last year. This is the best time of my life.”
