Leading Telugu, Tamil OTT platform aha has been the go-to streamer for a host of small and medium budget films in multiple languages. While the platform has been in the news lately about its reality shows Family Dhamaka (hosted by Vishwak Sen), Nenu Super Woman (hosted by anchor Ravi), they decided to premiere an action thriller titled Rahasya this weekend.
Nivas Sistu, Sarah Aachar play the lead roles in the police procedural thriller directed by Shiva Sri. Gowthami S has bankrolled the film under SSS Entertainments. Bugatha Sathyannarayana and Dasari Thirupathi Naidu essay supporting roles the thriller. Charan Arjun composed all the songs while Sunil Kashyap worked on the background score.
Rahasya had a limited release in theatres across Telugu states nearly a year ago. Almost a year after its theatrical run, Rahasya premiered on aha this Friday. The film commences when a dreaded terrorist is murdered under mysterious circumstances in a lodge in Visakhapatnam. When the news is out in public, it turns into a major controversy and all hell breaks loose.
Realising the gravity of the situation, the central government orders a transfer of the case to the NIA, amidst huge opposition from the state. As a result, an IPS officer gets to work on the case with the NIA team. Viswatej and Vedavathi, ex-colleagues with contrasting ideologies, fall in love with one another as they solve the case. What connects a bed to a series of murders?
G Selva Kumar cranked the camera for the film for which Rajesh Ch is the executive producer. SB Uddhav is the editor of the film. Several critics opined that the second half is the thriller’s major strength in addition to the stylish execution. The USP of Rahasya is its taut treatment which picks up team after a slow start.
