Raghu Thatha 2024: Release date, trailer, cast, crew, OTT platform, censor and more

Keerthy Suresh will be headlining the upcoming film Raghu Thatha, which is set to be a political satire. The film is set to hit theatres on August 15. Here is everything you need to know about the film before its release.

Release date

Raghu Thatha is set to hit big screens on August 15 for the occasion of Independence Day. The film will be clashing at the box office with Vikram-starrer Thangalaan and horror thriller sequel Demonte Colony. Raghu Thatha will be capitalising the Independence Day weekend, given the film is also said to carry some patriotic elements.

Trailer

The trailer of the film was released by the team recently. It introduces us to the character played by Keerthy Suresh, a rebellious woman who does not wish to be boxed within the typical ladylike characteristics. At various instances, where she stands up against people around her, who conform to societal expectations. We are also shown that she is police cadet as she gives back to people who question about her marriage. Other characters of the film are also shown in the trailer, with Keerthy Suresh at the helm of something. We are not disclosed what the film's central conflict is, and at the same time, the film also appears to be about the anti-Hindi movement.

Cast

Keerthy Suresh who was last seen in Siren is headlining Raghu Thatha. Apart from her, the film also features MS Bhaskar, Ravindra Vijay, Devadarshni, Jayakumar, Rajeev Ravindranathan, Anandsami, Rajesh Balachandran, Ismath Banu, Aadhira Pandilakshmi, Janaki, and Chu Khoy Sheng. KS Mippu, Mukesh, and Manoj Kumar Kalaivanan.

Crew

Raghu Thatha is produced by Hombale Films, the production banner behind film franchise KGF and Salaar. The upcoming feature will mark their debut in Tamil film production. Writer Suman Kumar will be making his directorial debut with Raghu Thatha. The film has been shot by cinematographer Yamini Yagnamurthy who worked with Keerthy in Saani Kaayidham. Raghu Thatha has music scored by Sean Roldan and TS Suresh has handled the editing.

OTT platform

ZEE5 has bagged the post-theatrical streaming rights of the film. After Raghu Thatha completes its theatrical run, the film will be made available on the platform. Raghu Thatha will also be subsequently available on OTTplay Premium.

Censor

Raghu Thatha has received a clean U certificate from the censor board, thus making it a film apt for all age groups of audience.
