Raghava Lawrence's action thriller Rudhran postponed; here's when the long-delayed film will hit the screens

It looks like fans of Lawrence have to wait a little longer to catch their favourite actor on screen. The filmmaker-choreographer's much-hyped movie Rudhran has been postponed again. A few months ago, makers had confirmed that the film will hit the screens in December. 

Now, they have announced that their current plan is to release it in theatres on April 14, 2023, leaving fans disappointed. In fact, their initial plan was to arrive on April 14 this year, though they never announced it officially. Lawrence's last movie was Kanchana 3 which was released in 2019.

Kathiresan of Five Star Creations, who has bankrolled the project, has also directed the movie. Rudhran marks his directorial debut as well. Priya Bhavani Shankar plays the female lead in the movie which has Sarath Kumar playing a crucial role. The social media handle of the production house informed that the delay in its release is owing to the unfinished VFX works.

Their tweet read, "While Rudhran was earlier announced for Christmas release in theatres, the film's VFX works seem to require a few more months timeline for the completion (sic)." The film will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.

The makers have also released a new poster along with the updated release date. The first look and second look of the movie were unveiled a few months ago. GV Prakash has composed music for the film which has editing by Anthony and cinematography by Rajasekar. 

KP Thirumaaran has written story and screenplay for Rudhran which has action choreography helmed by Vicky and Siva. Lawrence is currently busy with P Vasu's Chandramukhi 2. He has Durai Senthil Kumar's Adhigaram and Durga as well.
