Radhika Apte talked about how her role in Varun Dhawan's Badlapur made her want to act in more sex comedies in a recent interview. She made it clear that she had no problem with the genre, but she rejected these movies because they might be offensive to women. She vowed not to star in projects that promote jokes about women. Apte portrays Vinay Pathak's wife in Badlapur. In one scene, she disrobes completely to protect her husband from Dhawan. She claimed she received offers for parts in sex comedies after the movie came out, which she rejected.
When asked why she would turn down a high-profile movie, Apte responded to Bollywood Hungama that she believes a few sex comedies were given to her after Badlapur. Sex comedies are not a problem for her. The 2015 film Hunterrr might also be categorised as a sex comedy. The sex comedies they used to have, on the other hand, could be extremely objectifying and demeaning to women. They objectify women, and she finds the humour to be offensive. So she avoids doing it.
Apte continued by saying that timing has frequently been a problem for big-budget movies. She went on to say that she relies heavily on the movie's script to determine if it will be a sex-comedy or not. If one reads the script, they are aware of the subject matter of the movie and the jokes that are said. The actor doesn't mind seeing a movie where the main character makes sexist remarks about women. But they are attempting to convey a different idea; the story makes it into something else. But if the movie starts to celebrate those gags, she is not going to be in it.
In the movie Vikram Vedha with Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan, Apte last appeared. She portrayed Khan's wife in the movie and is a licensed attorney in real life. Her subsequent appearance will be in Monica, O My Darling, on Netflix.
