Salman Khan’s latest film Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai was leaked on Telegram just a few hours after the actor shared a message against film piracy on May 12.
A Twitter user shared that he had started streaming Radhe, even before the film’s scheduled release at 12pm on May 13 on ZEE5 and ZEEPlex.
The leak happened just a few hours after Salman’s request to say “no to piracy”. The actor released a video across all his social media platforms, requesting people to commit that they would watch the film on the official platforms.
“It takes the hard work of several people to make one film and it hurts a lot when some take the route of piracy to watch the final product,” the actor said, in the 25-second clip.
Salman then asked the audience to commit to the cause. “I want a commitment from all of you that you will enjoy films on the right platform. So, this Eid, we want a commitment from the audience - no piracy in entertainment,” he said.
Radhe, directed by Prabhu Dheva, will release simultaneously in multiple platforms including theatres and ZEEPLEX, the pay-per-view service of ZEE5, on May 13. The movie premiered in UAE theatres before releasing in India. The film also stars Disha Patani, Randeep Hooda, Jackie Shroff, Gautam Gulati and Megha Akash in pivotal roles.
Radhe was supposed to release on Eid 2020, but since the movie could not have a theatrical release, the makers decided to postpone the release. COVID-19 also halted the shooting of the film midway, after which Salman, who is also the producer of Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai, decided it was best to release the movie in 2021.
