RRR, the historical fiction drama set in the pre-Independence era, directed by SS Rajamouli, stars Jr NTR, Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, Olivia Morris, Samuthirakani and Rahul Ramakrishna in lead roles. The film is gearing up for a release in five languages on January 7, 2021 including Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada. A new single from the film, Raamam Raghavam a.k.a Rise of Ram, was launched at 9 pm today.
Vijay Prakash, Chandana Bala Kalyan, Charu Hariharan and others have crooned for the number, lyricised by Shiva Dutta (MM Keeravaani's father) and composed by MM Keeravaani. Shot more like an independent music video, Raamam Raaghavam is entirely written in Sanskrit and sheds light on the spirit of Alluri Sitharamaraju, a Telugu warrior whose contribution to the independence movement needs no introduction. Telugu star Ram Charan is cast as Alluri in RRR.
'Raamam raaghavam..Ranadheeram raajasam.. Rudhra dhanussama..Samaana swadhanushtankhaana..Bhayam bhraantha saathravam,' the lyrics take off in this wonderfully cinematographed music video. The intensity of the song and the lyrics do full justice in conveying what Alluri means to the Telugu land, highlighting his fearlessness and his ability to send shockwaves across the camps of his enemies.
If Komuram Bheemudo seemed slightly old school in its musical style to you, Raama Raaghavam is very today in terms of its orchestration with a mild acapella touch. Vijay Prakash is always good in pulling off emotional numbers like a walk in the park with his vocal depth and Raamam Raghavam is no different. The other songs that have released in RRR include Dosti, Naatu Naatu and Janani.
