Ramya Krishnan fans are in for a treat. The actor has begun shooting for Season 2 of the MX Player series Queen. The actor confirmed the news by sharing some BTS images from the sets.

The series Queen is inspired by the story of the late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa. The actor has been eagerly waiting to begin filming for the show, which was getting delayed due to COVID-19-induced lockdown. She recently took to Instagram to share a few selfies from the sets.

Ramya shared two photos on Instagram from the sets, one of which shows her portraying Queen's role and wrote: "Yes yes.'' She then added a praying emoji to the caption. Since she posted the update, the fans can’t keep calm. They have been flooding the comment section of her post, expressing their excitement for Season 2.

Ramya Krishnan plays Sakthi Seshadri, a character inspired by former Chief Minister. Directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon and Prasath Murugesan, the show presents Jayalalithaa's life in three parts, concentrating on her life as a schoolgirl, a teenager, and the period when she entered politics, succeeding MG Ramachandran after his death.

In an earlier interview with CinemaExpress, Ramya said about the sequel “I am just waiting to get there and be a part of it. People can expect more action, more interesting content, thrilling and exciting content."

As the show has gone on floors, the audience can expect the new season soon hitting the screens on MX Player.
