The Telugu film Pushpaka Vimanam, featuring Anand Deverakonda, Geeth Saini, Saanve Megghana, Sunil and Harshavardhan in key roles, instantly struck a chord with audiences upon release on November 12. The film is a delectable cocktail of crime, emotions and humour and had sparkling performances by its lcast. It was certainly heartening to see that a first-time director Damodara handle such a sensitive story with the comic touch of a veteran. The film was jointly produced under King of the Hill Entertainment and Tanga Productions. It's now set to be remade in Hindi.

Reportedly, three Bollywood production houses are in the race to grab the Hindi remake rights of Pushpaka Vimanam. The makers will seal the best deal among the three offers that have come their way shortly. "An official announcement about the same will be made soon," confirms the film's executive producer Anurag Parvathaneni. The story has the universal appeal to resonate with a pan-Indian audience and it doesn't come as a surprise that Bollywood has set its eyes on Pushpaka Vimanam.

The film revolves around a government school teacher Sundaram, whose wife elopes with another man a few days after their marriage. What happens to his wife? How he does he deal with the embarassment from his colleagues and neighbours? Will he ever know of his wife's wherabouts? Anand Deverakonda delivers what's certainly his best performance in his career with Pushpaka Vimanam, while Sunil, Kireeti, Naresh, Geeth Saini and Saanve Megghana are brilliant while they last. The film had music by Sidharth Sadasivuni, Ram Miriyala and Mark K Robin.
