The much-awaited Pushpa 2 titled Pushpa: The Rule hit the big screens worldwide on Thursday. The film headlined by Allu Arjun, also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil. While the film majorly opened to a positive reception, fans of Fahadh Faasil were in for a disappointment after the powerhouse of talent was underutilised in the film.
For those who don’t know, Fahadh Faasil plays the antagonist in Pushpa: The Rule. While his character made a cameo appearance in Pushpa: The Rise, the first part, towards the post-credits, Fahadh Faasil has a much bigger role in the sequel. His character, SP Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat IPS, was shown as a ruthless and notorious cop who can stand up to Allu Arjun’s Pushpa Raj.

However, many who watched Pushpa 2 took to social media to share their disappointment on how the makers had underutilized Fahadh Faasil, who is known for his acting prowess and playing a variety of roles in a unique manner. Here is what netizens think of Fahadh Faasil’s character.
Fahadh Faasil has been an actor, who is not boxed within one type of role. The actor, who appeared as a supporting character in Vettaiyan, played the lead in this year’s blockbuster Aavesham, and wrapped up the year by playing the antagonist in Pushpa 2.
The post-theatrical streaming rights of the film have been bagged by Prime Video. The first part of the film, Pushpa: The Rise, is available for streaming on the same platform in multiple languages. It is safe to assume, given the successful run of Pushpa 2, the film will be made available only in January 2025.
The Pushpa film franchise is backed by Mythri Movie Makers and directed by Sukumar. The film has already made Rs 100 crore before its release, with advance bookings. A third part titled Pushpa: The Rampage is in the works.
