Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 shows no signs of slowing down, breaking records left, right, and center. In the Telugu states, the film continues its impressive run. As reported earlier, Pushpa 2 needs to earn close to ₹215 crore to break even in Telugu states.
According to the latest trade update, the Allu Arjun starrer crossed the ₹200 crore share mark in Telugu regions recently, with gross collections already touching ₹300 crore.
Ticket prices, which were initially hiked, will now be reduced to normal rates, making it easier for family audiences to visit theaters in the coming days. While some fans and the general audience stayed away due to the high ticket prices, this adjustment is expected to boost attendance.
Though Pushpa 2 might not generate solid profits in the coming days, it is set to break even and has already become the first non-Rajamouli film to cross the ₹200 crore mark.
Mythri Movie Makers released the film in 80% of the Telugu states on their own. While they saw massive profits in the Telangana region, they faced losses in areas like Guntur. However, the overall damage is minimal as the makers have already recovered 90% of their investment.
The film is also in the news due to the tragic incident where a boy injured in the Sandhya Theater stampede was declared brain dead. The situation remains tense, and authorities are reportedly planning to file additional cases against Allu Arjun.
In the Hindi belt, Pushpa 2 has grossed over ₹600 crore and is on track to become one of the biggest hits in Indian cinema history. In the US, the film has made over $13.5 million and needs to cross the $16 million mark to break even. Stay tuned for more updates on this box-office phenomenon.
