The Sandhya Theater stampede during the screening of Pushpa 2 has become a new headache for Allu Arjun. The situation has turned political, with the Telangana government leaving no stone unturned to highlight Allu Arjun's alleged mistakes, despite prior warnings about the fatal incident on the theater premises on the opening day.
Allu Arjun was arrested by Hyderabad police and spent a day in jail before being granted bail. Reports now indicate that the police have summoned him to appear in court on December 24, 2024, for further questioning. The Telangana government is actively working to revoke the star's bail.
Anticipating this, Allu Arjun held a press interaction after the Chief Minister directly criticized him, escalating tensions. The Telangana government is reportedly upset with the Pushpa 2 star and insists that he face legal consequences.
Tensions have risen at Allu Arjun's residence after a group of students attacked his property, causing damage. The situation continues to deteriorate, and further developments are expected in the coming days. There are also reports suggesting Allu Arjun could face re-arrest in connection with the stampede.
Meanwhile, the makers of Pushpa 2, Mythri Movie Makers, have issued a cheque worth Rs 50 lakh to Tej, a boy who was critically injured in the stampede and is currently brain dead, undergoing treatment at a hospital in Hyderabad.
Allu Arjun is expected to reach the Chikkadapally police station at 11 a.m. today for further investigation. It remains to be seen what additional challenges the Pushpa 2 star will face.
On a different note, Pushpa 2 continues to dominate the box office, grossing Rs 1500 crore worldwide. Stay tuned for more updates.
