Pushpa 2: The Rule, starring Allu Arjun, is indeed the movie that will be talked about the most for at least the coming few months. The monstrous opening that the film has enjoyed is proof that there is no looking back for it. The movie, a sequel to the 2021 release, was one of the most anticipated movies of the year. Now, as it has opened in theatres, the monstrous box office numbers are making all the headlines. But what is also making news are the tragic incidents happening around the movie. While the death of a lady in a cinema hall in Hyderabad where Allu Arjun graced the show made headlines, the latest incident comes from Mumbai, where a screening was halted after someone allegedly sprayed pepper spray in the theatre, causing tension.
Pushpa 2 Screening Halted In Mumbai
As per an IANS tweet, in Mumbai’s iconic cinema hall, Gaiety Galaxy, an unidentified individual allegedly sprayed pepper spray. This led to the audience becoming irritated, and the show had to be halted midway due to the tension. The spray resulted in audience members coughing, experiencing irritation in their throats, and feeling nauseated. This incident led to the show being paused for more than 20 minutes.
There are also reports claiming that some people looked visibly distressed and struggled to breathe. Videos circulating online show how the spray caused chaos and commotion inside the theatre. The staff immediately paused the screening after this was brought to their notice, and authorities were called to investigate the matter.
Pushpa 2 Box Office
Well, the unimaginable has happened, and that says a lot about the success that Pushpa 2 is about to witness in India. The Allu Arjun starrer has achieved a historic feat in the Hindi belt, where the buzz is strong and loud. The movie has dethroned Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan to become the biggest box office opener ever in Hindi. The film earned ₹66 crores in the Hindi belt on day 1, which is a monstrous opening for any South film, as per Pinkvilla.
Pushpa 2 has now dethroned Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan from the top position of highest box office openers in Hindi. Jawan held the record with ₹64 crores. The movie, released last year in September, was directed by Atlee. The Allu Arjun starrer has also surpassed KGF: Chapter 2’s ₹52 crore Hindi opening, which was the record holder before the Rashmika Mandanna starrer.
Pushpa 2, directed by Sukumar, stars Allu Arjun, Fahadh Faasil, Rashmika Mandanna, and an ensemble cast recurring from the first film. The storyline takes place sometime after the events of the first film, and we meet a now-happily-married Pushpa, who still has Shekhawat as a threat lingering around him. The story then moves on to the fact that Pushpa still doesn't have a family name behind him, and it goes on to establish that. Anything more than this will be a spoiler.
