Pushpa 2 is one of the biggest hits in Indian cinema, amassing over ₹1,850 crore worldwide. In Hindi, the Allu Arjun starrer became the biggest hit, crossing the ₹800 crore mark.
The wait for the OTT release is finally over, as Pushpa 2 is now streaming on Netflix. We at OTTplay had already reported that Netflix would release the "Reloaded" version with a runtime of 3 hours and 44 minutes and that has indeed happened. However, there is a catch.
Pushpa 2 is currently available on OTT in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam, but the Kannada version is yet to drop on Netflix, with no official reason disclosed. Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2 made waves across all its release regions.
The makers, Mythri Movie Makers, secured a massive OTT deal, setting a record for any Telugu film to date. They also stipulated that Pushpa 2 should not be released on OTT within 56 days of its theatrical release, a condition that has been upheld.
The action drama is one of the most awaited films on OTT and is expected to break solid records in the coming days. Allu Arjun’s electrifying performance was loved by audiences. However, the star could not celebrate its success, as he was arrested in connection with the Sandhya Theater stampede case.
The situation escalated after Allu Arjun was released on bail, leading to a press interaction where he openly criticized the government for his arrest. This controversy further boosted Pushpa 2’s box office performance.
Notably, Pushpa 2 recorded massive earnings in all its release languages. For instance, the film grossed over ₹50 crore in West Bengal—an unprecedented achievement for any Bengali film to date.
Director Sukumar is now being hailed as the next big name in Indian cinema. With the film's lengthy runtime on OTT, it remains to be seen how audiences will respond in the coming days. Stay tuned for more updates!
