Pushpa 2 box office collection day 28: Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa 2: The Rule is undoubtedly the most successful movie of 2024 and has very potently seeped into 2025 too. The movie that stars Allu in the lead alongside Rashmika Mandanna has turned out to be a success story that will be undefeated, at least for some time, until another raging film takes the box office by storm. The movie, a direct sequel to the 2021 film, has been one of the most anticipated movies for three years until its release on the big screen, and in a very good turn of events, that anticipation did translate into a monstrous box office. While we have been scaling the achievements the movie has been earning so far, it probably is now on one of its biggest plights as it now competes with Aamir Khan’s Dangal to become the biggest Indian grosser worldwide.

Pushpa 2 Box Office Update

According to the latest numbers from Sacnilk, Pushpa 2: The Rule has now earned more than Baahubali 2: The Conclusion at the world box office, becoming the second highest-grossing Indian movie of all time. You read that right. The movie was already in third place and still had a very good box-office collection. Now, it has crossed the Rs 1,788 crore gross mark that Baahubali 2 had set and left SS Rajamouli's film behind. 

On day 28 of release, Pushpa 2 earned Rs 13.15 crore at the domestic box office, bringing the domestic collection to Rs 1,184.65 crore. Interestingly, the last time worldwide numbers came in, the film stood at Rs 1,760 crore gross worldwide till day 26. This means it only needed Rs 28 crore more to beat Baahubali 2 and take the second position in the Highest Grossing Indian Movie Of All Time list. In the last two days, the movie has made Rs 20.85 crore in India, which indicates it has indeed crossed Baahubali 2’s Rs 1,788 crore gross mark worldwide already.

The competition now is for the top position, which is held by Aamir Khan’s Dangal with a very strong hold. While the movie has earned much less than Pushpa 2 in the domestic market, the worldwide haul is crazy, especially the collections in China. The Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Shaikh starrer had earned Rs 387.38 crore in India, and the worldwide gross stood at Rs 2,070 crore. Pushpa 2 has to keep up the pace and amp it by some notches now to beat the Khan starrer, which has been undefeated for a very long time.

Already Left Baahubali 2 In India

On December 25, which was the 21st day of release for Pushpa 2, the Allu Arjun starrer managed to earn Rs 19.75 crore in the Indian market. This number took the overall net haul for the film in the country to a staggering Rs 1,109.85 crore, which meant the movie, still strong at the box office, became the highest net-earning film in India and defeated Baahubali 2, which was SS Rajamouli's winning horse and was undefeated since 2017. However, in terms of gross collection, Baahubali 2 earned Rs 1,416 crore gross, and that means Pushpa 2 is in the second position right now.

Pushpa 2, directed by Sukumar, stars Allu Arjun, Fahadh Faasil, Rashmika Mandanna, and an ensemble that is recurring from the first film. The storyline takes place sometime after the events of the first film, and we meet a now happily married Pushpa, who still continues to have Shekhawat as a threat lingering around him. The story moves on to the fact that Pushpa still doesn't have a family name behind him, and it goes on to establish that. Anything more than this will be a spoiler.
