Pushpa 2 box office collection day 33 Hindi: Inches closer to kickstarting the 800 crore club but suffers a 65% drop on Monday

Pushpa 2: The Rule, over the past one month, has created a storm that is finally easing down as it enters the fifth week since release, and that is not a good sign if the movie wants to beat Aamir Khan’s Dangal. The Allu Arjun starrer has beaten and created many more records to be called supremely successful, even if it doesn’t manage to beat the biggest. But the movie on the fifth Monday since its release on December 5 has seen a 65% drop when compared to the Sunday collection. The movie now stands on a collection that is not that far from kickstarting the Rs 800 crore club, but the speed has now slowed down.

Pushpa 2 Box Office Update

Talking about Day 33 collections, the movie has managed to earn Rs 2.5 crore in India on Sunday. However, this is not enough to compete with Dangal, which stands much farther beyond the point the Allu Arjun starrer is on right now. In Hindi, it earned Rs 1.9 crore; in Telugu, it earned Rs 0.55 crore; Tamil collections reached Rs 0.05 crore. There are no details on Malayalam collections. The movie witnessed a 65% drop in collections when compared to the Sunday numbers when the movie earned Rs 7 crore in India.

The total in Hindi right now stands at Rs 793.2 crore net, and that is indeed a massive number. But now the aim for the movie is, of course, Rs 800 crore, and if it manages to touch that, it will become the first film in Hindi to do so and set a new record. However, estimates have now said that the collection will drop even more today, Day 34. The movie is expected to earn in the Rs 1 crore range today. However, estimates also say that it will only drop even further now because the New Year frenzy is also faded now. In that case, it is indeed a tough run towards the Rs 800 crore mark and even tougher to beat Dangal.

Pushpa 2 Kickstarts Rs 1200 Crore Club

As per the numbers flowing in on Sacnilk, Pushpa 2 has managed to earn ₹1,206 crore net by Day 32 in India. With this massive number, not only has the Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna starrer movie managed to become the biggest grosser in India, but it also kickstarted the new Rs 1200 crore box office club, which will, of course, be difficult to crack for the movies that will release ahead. So far, language-wise, Pushpa 2 earned ₹334.76 crore in Telugu, a whopping ₹791.2 crore in Hindi, and ₹58.16 crore in Tamil language. Its Kannada version collected ₹7.73 crore, while it earned ₹14.15 crore in Malayalam.

The competition now is for the top position, which is held by Aamir Khan's Dangal with a very strong hold. While the movie has earned far less than Pushpa 2 in the domestic market, the worldwide haul is crazy and especially the collections in China. The Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Shaikh starrer had earned Rs 387.38 crore in India, and the worldwide gross stood at Rs 2070 crore. Pushpa 2 has to keep up the pace and amp it by some notches now to beat the Khan starrer, which has been undefeated for a very long time.
