Pushpa 2 shows no signs of slowing down at the box office. With each passing day, it continues to break records across all release centers. In Hindi, it is expected to gross over Rs 800 crore in the coming days.
In Telugu, the film has performed exceptionally well in the Nizam region. The action drama is a sensation in Telangana, consistently drawing houseful crowds on weekends which is a good sign for the makers. The film is doing well in the A-centers like Hyderabad, Guntur, and Vijayawada but is dull in the Godavari regions.
As of now, Pushpa 2 has grossed Rs 145 crore in Nizam, setting a new record. The pre-release business for the film was valued at Rs 100 crore, and it has already entered the profit zone. In the days ahead, Pushpa 2 is projected to reach a Rs 150 crore gross, marking yet another milestone.
Mythri Movie Makers produced the film and released it independently in the Nizam region, yielding significant profits. However, the film has yet to break even in some areas of Andhra Pradesh. While regions like Guntur and Krishna are performing well, a few areas in the Godavari region are still awaiting profitability.
Directed by Sukumar, the film's numbers might have been lower if not for the controversy surrounding Allu Arjun, according to trade pundits. Due to the Sandhya Theater stampede incident, the makers refrained from celebrations and maintained a low profile.
Allu Arjun is currently out on bail, and the case's outcome remains uncertain. Netflix has secured the digital rights and will stream the film in January 2025. It remains to be seen how much the film will gross globally by the end of its theatrical run.
The next big release is Ram Charan's Game Changer, which, if met with positive reviews, could pose a significant challenge to Pushpa 2's box office dominance. Watch this space for more updates on this project.
