The fact that the first week of December was always marked for Pushpa 2: The Rule this year is a given. We all were estimating a landmark success for the film as it was riding on so much excitement. The anticipation to see what Allu Arjun and Sukumar were cooking was so high that the audience couldn't wait for the film to release. The result is a monstrous box office success that is much beyond Rs 150 crores Pan India, and that is enough to tell you the raging collection the movie is looking at as we speak. While we were expecting these numbers in the South Belt and knew it would, of course, contribute the biggest share, who would have thought the Hindi and Telugu collections of the film would stand parallel and cross Rs 50 crores each on day 2 itself?

Well, the unimaginable has happened, and that says a lot about the success that Pushpa 2 is about to witness in India. The Allu Arjun starrer has achieved a historic feat in the Hindi belt, where the buzz is strong and loud. The movie has dethroned Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan to be the biggest box office opener ever in Hindi. The film earned Rs 66 crores in the Hindi belt on day 1, which is a monstrous opening for any South film, as per Pinkvilla.
Pushpa 2 has now dethroned Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan from the top position of highest box office openers in Hindi. Jawan held the record with Rs 64 crores. The movie, released last year in September and directed by Atlee, had set a benchmark. The Allu Arjun starrer, however, has also surpassed KGF: Chapter 2’s Rs 52 crore Hindi opening, which was the record holder before the Rashmika Mandanna starrer.

Pushpa 2, directed by Sukumar, stars Allu Arjun, Fahadh Faasil, Rashmika Mandanna, and an ensemble cast that is recurring from the first film. The storyline takes place sometime after the events of the first film, and we meet a now happily married Pushpa, who still continues to have Shekhawat as a threat lingering around him. The story then moves on to explore the fact that Pushpa still doesn't have a family name behind him, and it goes on to establish that. Anything more than this will be a spoiler.
