Emile Hirsch and John Cusack are teaming up for a new high octane action thriller that has its fair share of blazing guns and explosions wrapped into a tidy redemption saga. The trailer for Pursuit was unveiled recently by Lionsgate Movies, revealing a fast paced thriller along the lines of Taken.
A hacker(Hirsch) is forced to ask help from his estranged father(Cusack) when the former’s wife goes missing. As the trailer progresses, viewers get a closer glimpse into the two’s lives and relationship, which proves to be far messier than most. The hacker, who himself chases after the gang who has his wife, is a man on the run wanted by police who are hot on his trail. Just when it feels like hope is lost and he comes into the clutches of authorities, his father comes to his rescue, bailing him out in a rather explosive and dramatic fashion. However is the man motivated only by fatherly love, or is there sinister agenda lurking behind his sudden change of heart?
The rest of the trailer reveals the duo’s adrenaline-fueled efforts to find the missing woman, encountering many dangerous threats along the way which they solve with the strongest tool at their disposal- no holds barred violence.
The upcoming action thriller is directed by Brian Skiba and was written by Skiba, Andrew Stevens, Dawn Bursteen, and Ben Fiore. In addition to Hirsch and Cusack, the film also features Jake Manley and Elizabeth Ludlow, both of whom play law enforcement officers.
Pursuit is scheduled to be released in theatres on February 18.
