Nag Ashwin’s Project K is one that the director is seeking to mount on a grand scale. The film is already generating a lot of buzz, one of the reasons being the sheer amount of star power attached to it, with Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan essaying crucial roles in the same. And to stoke fans’ excitement even further, Ashwin reached out for help from an unexpected source to make the film.

On his official Twitter handle, the filmmaker made a request to businessman Anand Mahindra, the chairman of Mahindra Group. Ashwin talked about Project K and how he wanted to feature a few vehicles in the film that were ‘unique and beyond the technology’ that was available at present. Talking about how much he admired the businessman, Ashwin went on to say that although the film has a team of brilliant engineers and designers, they need some help due to the massive scale of the project. Saying that the film is the kind that has never been attempted before, he requests Mahindra’s help in ‘engineering the future’.

The businessman was more than gracious in his reply, happily agreeing to help. Calling it an opportunity to ‘envision the future of mobility’, Mahindra suggested the name of his company’s Chief of Global Product Development to him to seek help for the project.

The upcoming film is touted to be a very expensive project, with a budget reportedly over Rs 500 crore. The film will mark the first time Deepika and Prabhas appear on screen together. Vyjayanthi Movies is bankrolling the film, which is expected to be released sometime next year.
