Priyanka Chopra Jonas has lately opened up about her time as a working mother and successful professional. The actor discussed the pressures on young people in an interview with Tiffany Reid for the Marshalls Good Stuff Social event. She continued by saying that she occasionally forgot to call her mother on her birthday. But following a health scare with her father, attitudes shifted.
Prioritising time after father's health scare
After her father became ill, Priyanka said she learned the value of time. Ashok Chopra, the actor's father, passed away from cancer in 2013. The number of her mother's birthdays that she had forgotten or missed was unknown to her. She shared the number of years she missed celebrating Diwali, but that's okay because she was working in Europe at the time and nobody there celebrates it. PeeCee jumped the gun and missed a few times before realising it was safe to continue.
Priyanka didn't get to spend another Diwali with her dad after he passed away. It was a major setback for her when he became ill. She thinks that was a pretty momentous time for her when she recognised that life is short and we worry about so many trivial things when there are so many big things for them to worry about. The actor thinks focusing on it brings one to the ground.
Remembering Priyanka's father
Priyanka's relationship with her father was quite tight. She loves him so much that she got a tattoo in his honour, "Daddy's little girl," which she flaunts proudly.
Work front
Recently, Priyanka visited India for work, was in Mumbai for the launch of Jio World Plaza, and also attended the Jio MAMI Film Festival, for which she is the chairperson. The actor's mother reportedly required emergency treatment for anaphylaxis at a hospital not too long ago. Health Shots reports that Madhu shared a hospital photo after her adverse reaction.
Priyanka has returned to the US now. On the work front, Heads of State, also starring John Cena and Idris Elba, will be her next film appearance.
