It was a glitzy affair as politician Raghav Chadha got engaged to Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra in the national capital on Saturday evening. Taking to Instagram and Twitter, the couple dropped dreamy pictures in white attires of each other. Parineeti's caption read, "Everything I prayed for... I said yes! Waaheguru ji meher karan..." while Raghav wrote in the caption, "Everything I prayed for .. She said yes! Waaheguruji meher karan..."
Several high-profile people were present at the event including actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas, fashion designer Manish Malhotra, singer Mika Singh, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Congress leader Kapil Sibal and more.
On Parineeti’s special day, her cousin, actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas dropped a lovely post for the ‘it’ couple. Taking to Instagram, the Citadel actress wrote, “Congratulations Tisha and Raghav... Cannot wait for the wedding! So happy for you both and the families️! So fun to catch up with the fam!” Along with this, Priyanka attached a bunch of photos from the ceremony.
For the occasion, Priyanka chose to wear a lime-coloured ruffle saree with minimal accessories. She preferred to keep her hair open and looked radiant by flashing a cute smile.
The engagement ceremony was held at Kapurthala House in Delhi. Guests started arriving the venue at about 5pm and the ceremony continued till late evening.
The love story between the couple of the evening, Parineeti and Raghav, is like no other tale. Both had known each other since their graduation days, despite pursuing different courses in different universities in England. Later, as years passed by, their friendship transpired into something more meaningful.
Recently, news reports started pouring in hinting that something is brewing between the celebrity couple. However, nothing was officially confirmed by the couple before yesterday’s ceremony. And now, the couple plan to resume work in their respective careers.
