It’s no secret that Oru Adaar Love director Omar Lulu and its star Priya Prakash Varrier had a fallout post the film’s release. Four years after the film’s release, the movie and especially Priya’s viral wink is once again the talk of the town after the actress had claimed that it was her idea.

Priya, in an interview with Pearle Maaney, during the promotions of her previous release Live, said that she had improvised the wink portion in the song Manikya Malaraya Poovi, which went viral and got over 107 million views.

However, the movie’s director Omar Lulu wasn’t pleased with the comment and took to his social media page to share a video of another interview, from almost five years ago. The video has Priya saying that her co-star in the film, Roshan, had these naughty expressions and does things with his eyebrows. “Everybody asked me if I could try it and I said yes, and then they said to also wink while doing it. That’s how it happened,” she had said.

Omar also sarcastically added, “It’s been five years, the poor kid must have forgotten. Valiya chandanaadi oil is best for memory loss.” Usually the filmmaker has been at the receiving end of trolls for his misogynist comments, but this time he found more supporters on social media. Omar also followed the video, with two more posts – a photo of the ayurvedic oil as well as video of how a Hindi online account had taken it up, suggesting that valiya chandanaadi oil is trending.

With Priya finding instant fame following the music video in 2019, the makers of Oru Adaar Love had scaled up the movie and gave it a pan-Indian release. However, the film failed to make a mark at the box office and Omar blamed Priya for the flop.

Omar said he had to change the movie’s script to make room for more scenes featuring Priya and Roshan and they have ignorned him completely now. “When these kids get something they don’t deserve suddenly, they don’t understand it,” he said. In response, Priya had posted on her social media, “If I begin speaking the truth, some people would be in trouble.”

Meanwhile, Priya is gearing up for her next release – Kolla, a heist thriller also starring Rajisha Vijayan.
