Priya Bhavani Shankar has lashed out at reports that stated that she is in the film industry only for the money. The Indian 2 actress clarified that not only did she not make the statement, but even if she had said it, she didn't understand what's the big deal about it. After all, everyone works for money. Taking to her social media handle, Priya Bhavani Shankar questioned why people make it sound vulgar when an actress says it. "Let's not jump at the first chance we get to define, judge and put a person down (sic)."She added that she has worked her way up and that she would not let anyone make it sound easy and cheap. Priya Bhavani Shankar also asked the reports to present the source of her 'statement'.
A couple of days ago, certain reports began doing the rounds that said that Priya Bhavani Shankar had entered the film industry because it would fetch her more money. In the report, she stated that initially, it was all about a hefty paycheck. The report stated that since the Thiruchitramabalm actress didn't have a film background, she had to work hard to move up the ladder. It added that after being in the industry, her perspective has changed and that she wants to be part of some good projects.
Priya Bhavani Shankar currently has a slew of projects in her kitty, which includes director Ajay Gnanamuthu's Demonte Colony 2, Indian 2 and Bommai. She is awaiting the release of Silambarasan TR's action entertainer Mufti (the Tamil remake of the Kannada film Mufti) and Agilan in which she teams up with Jayam Ravi. She had recently made her Telugu debut with Kalyanam Kamaneeyam, in which she was seen opposite Santosh Shoban and was directed by Anil Kumar Aalla. Priya Bhavani Shankar, who was a small screen actress, took the plunge into movies with Meyaadha Maan in 2017.
