Aashiq Abu is a fan-favourite director in the Malayalam film industry and has had a high success rate in his career so far. There was much fanfare when he announced he will be doing a movie with Prithviraj, and the latest update is that the movie will go on the floors soon.

Producer Santosh T Kuruvilla took to Facebook to give an exciting update on the project, and said that the filming will begin soon. The producer also confirmed that the movie will be a modern telling of A. Vincent’s 1964 movie Bhargavi Nilayam, which was written by Vaikom Muhammad Basheer, based on his own short story Neela Velicham.

Apart from Prithviraj, the movie will also feature Kunchacko Boban, Rima Kallingal, and Soubin Shahir in pivotal roles. While Shyju Khalid handles the cinematography of the horror movie, Bijibal and Rex Vijayan are composing the music.

OPM Dream Mill, which is a banner that includes both Kuruvila and Abu, will be backing the movie. The combo has previously delivered movies such as Maheshinte Prathikaram, Da Thadiya, Maayanadhi and Virus.

The producer also shared an update on Naradhan, another Aashiq Abu movie, which stars Tovino Thomas in the lead. Kuruvila confirmed that once the COVID-19 pandemic situation ease up, the movie will be set for a release.

With Tovino in the lead, the movie also stars Anna Ben, Jaffer Idukki, Sharaf U Dheen, Renji Panicker, and Joy Mathew. Written by Unni R, the political thriller is also presented by the same production house.

Prithviraj is currently in the limelight, following the release of his second directorial feature Bro Daddy, co-starring Mohanlal, Meena and Kalyani Priyadarshan, which is available to stream on Disney+ Hotstar.
