It was widely reported that, after much delay, the shooting of Empuraan, Prithviraj Sukumaran's directorial film that stars Mohanlal, will begin soon. And that it will kickstart through a promo shoot. Now, Prthviraj has taken to his Twitter handle to slam the reports, saying that news of a promo shoot is false. The actor said that the crew has some plans on how to announce the shoot dates and other details of the movie, but that it is not through a promo shoot.
Rumours about Empuraan's promo shoot
There have been reports about the promotional shoot for Empuraan, which is the sequel to the hit 2019 film Lucifer, taking place next week, as well as the first schedule of the film scheduled to begin in October. The movie's initial shooting locations are speculated to be Delhi and Ladakh. While Prithviraj has denied rumours about the promotional shoot, there have been no statements made about the commencement of the shoot. So, it is possible that the movie's production will commence in October.
Empuraan's delayed shoot
It was initially planned that the shooting for Empuraan would begin in August, but it was delayed after an accident that Prithviraj suffered on the set of his other film, Vilayath Buddha. Mohanlal is expected to join the set of the Lucifer sequel after he finishes filming Neru, a courtroom drama directed by Jeethu Joseph. According to recent reports, Mohanlal has already started filming for Neru after completing his work on the Telugu-Malayalam bilingual, Vrushabha.
Empuraan to be made on a massive scale
Empuraan is expected to be made on a budget of Rs 100–150 crore, the largest in the Malayalam film industry. The film crew is al ready scouting locations in six countries. Aashirvad Cinemas is producing the film, and the screenplay is written by Murali Gopy, who is known for movies like Lucifer, Kammara Sambhavam, and Left Right Left.
Empuraan is about the life of Stephen Nedumpally (Mohanlal) before the events that took place in Lucifer. Prithviraj, the director of the film, will also reprise his role as Zayed Masood in the sequel. The remaining cast has yet to be revealed by the Empuraan team.
Mohanlal's epic actioner, Vrushabha
Meanwhile, the first schedule for Mohanlal's epic actioner, Vrushabha, has been completed. Vrushabha is ex pected to be a game changer for the actor, as he is part of a big-budget film in a language other than Malayalam for the first time. Along with Mohanlal, Shanaya Kapoor, Zahrah S Khan, and Roshan Meka also play pivotal roles in the film.
