Malayalam superstar Prithviraj Sukumaran was latest in the long list of celebrities who took online to laud Rishab Shetty’s latest critically and commercially acclaimed hit Kantara. The Kaduva actor took to his Twitter page to praise the Kannada actor-director’s movie.

Calling Kantara “a glorious cinematic achievement” and applauding the “spectacular” final 20 minutes of the film, the actor wrote that Rishab “is an absolute genius” both on screen as well as behind the camera. The Malayalam star also lauded the film’s production company Hombale Films, which had produced Prashanth Neel’s KGF and KGF: Chapter 2.

Kantara, an action thriller, is set against the backdrop of a reserve forest where a conflict arises between the villagers, forest department and a landlord over a piece of encroached land. Rishab Shetty, who has also written the film, plays a Kambala champion in the film, which also stars Kishore, Achyuth Kumar and Sapthami Gowda.

The thriller extends Hombale Films’ winning streak at the box office after KGF 2. In his tweet, Prithviraj wrote, “What a mind-blowing portfolio of content you’re building. Thank you for leading the way!”

Hombale Films immediately responded to Prithviraj’s tweet by confirming his presence in their next much-anticipated film Salaar. “With you by our side, we wish to go a notch higher with Tyson and Salaar,” tweeted the production house, which is set to venture into Mollywood with Fahadh Faasil’s Dhoomam, which will be directed by Lucia filmmaker Pawan Kumar.

Meanwhile, Prithviraj also announced that his production company Prithviraj Productions will distribute the Malayalam version of Kantara. An official release date for the dubbed version is to be announced. Prithviraj Productions had previously bought the Kerala distribution rights for Kannada movies – 777 Charlie starring Rakshit Shetty and KGF: Chapter 2. The production company had also distributed Ranveer Singh’s ’83. “I absolutely had to do this after watching the Kannada version,” he wrote.
