Prithviraj is interested in making Paavada's sequel, reveals G Marthandan

Malayalam director G Marthandan is gearing up for the release of his comedy entertainer, Maharani. The film, starring Shine Tom Chacko and Roshan Mathew, is a comedy drama with quirky characters and rustic comedy scenes. Marthandan is known to direct comedy films, such as Daivathinte Swantham Cleetus and Johny Johny Yes Papa. The director, who has been giving several interviews ahead of the film’s release, revealed details about his upcoming projects, also hinting at a possible sequel to his 2016 Prithiviraj-starrer Paavada.

In a recent interview, the Maharani director revealed that he wants to make a sequel to his 2016 film Paavada. “I once spoke to Prithviraj regarding a sequel to Paavada and he asked me to proceed with it if I got a good subject. My goal is to create Paavada based on the role Prithviraj played. Bipin Chandran (the scriptwriter of Paavada) and I might work on the subject soon; we may name it Paambu Joy.”

In Paavada, Prirthviraj plays the role of Paambu Joy. Marthadan added that since Paambu Joy was loved by audiences, there is a lot of scope for a sequel based on that character.

Maharani to be released in theatres on November 24

The trailer for Maharani promises a film filled with humour and emotional moments. The inclusion of Harisree Ashokan's character introduces a compelling element to the emotional drama. Maharani revolves around a group of villagers who are caught in amusing situations, offering an engaging plot and light-hearted comedy. Written by Ratheesh Ravi, the movie stars Roshan Mathew and Shine Tom Chacko in pivotal roles and will be released in theatres on November 24.

Maharani features a star-studded cast, including veteran actor Harisree Ashokan. Other notable actors in the film include Johny Antony, Jaffer Idukki, Gokulan, Balu Varghese, and Ashwath Lal. The music is composed by Gopi Sundar and Govind Vasantha, and it includes a recently released folk melody titled Chathayadhina Pattu, written by Anwar Ali. The technical crew consists of Noufal Abdhulla as the editor and Loganathan Srinivasan as the cinematographer.
