Akshay Kumar’s Prithviraj is one of the biggest and most-anticipated movies that is set to be released in the country. The makers have released the movie’s trailer today, which is receiving praise from the fans. 

During the press meet that was held during the trailer release, Akshay Kumar, who essays the role of Prithviraj Chauhan, a king from the Chahamana dynasty, said that he wants the Indian government to show the movie in schools as it is a part of Indian history. He also said that the period war drama is educational. 

Akshay was soon asked whether Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi should watch Prithviraj, to which the star replied, “"If he wants, he will watch it."

The movie’s trailer shows the life and valour of Prithviraj Chauhan, including a love story. The movie is laid out in a grand canvas and the war scenes where the king takes on raiders is proof of this. 

Apart from Akshay Kumar in the titular role, the movie also features Sanjay Dutt as Kaka Kanha, Sonu Sood as Chand Varai, the king’s right-hand man, Ashutosh Rana and Sakshi Tanwar in supporting roles. The movie also sees Manushi Chhillar make her feature film debut, playing Sanyogita, Prithviraj's wife. 

The historical biography is written and directed by Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi, who has an impressive list of historical projects in his filmography, for both television and the cinema. 

Produced by Aditya Chopra under the banner of Yash Raj Films, the movie’s soundtrack is composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. Manush Nandan and Aarif Sheikh are the cinematographer and editor respectively. The movie is set to hit theatres on June 3.
