Sivakarthikeyan, after establishing himself as a crowd-puller in Tamil cinema, aims to reach out to Telugu viewers too with his bilingual Prince, written and directed by Jathi Ratnalu fame KV Anudeep. The film, simultaneously made in Telugu and Tamil, is set to release on October 21 and is jointly produced by Sunil Narang, Suresh Babu and Puskur Ram Mohan Rao under Sri Venkateswara Cinemas, Suresh Productions and Shanti Talkies. The pre-release event for the Telugu version was held in Hyderabad on Tuesday.
“I thank my producers for ensuring a huge release for Prince this Diwali. Anudeep’s brand of humour will entertain audiences. The story is about a small-town boy falling for a British woman and he has narrated it hilariously. After Doctor and Don, I’m sure Prince will win your hearts. It’s great that my co-star Maria has decided to use her remuneration to help her war-torn country. I thank Vijay Deverakonda and Harish Shankar for gracing the event, I wish to act with Vijay soon,” Sivakarthikeyan said.
“Suresh Productions gave me a firm foundation with Pelli Choopulu and Sunil Narang took me to a wider audience with Arjun Reddy. They’ve played a huge role in my career and I’m happy to be a part of this event. Nag Ashwin really liked Anudeep’s short films during Yevade Subrahmanyam’s shoot. Anudeep has a great knack for comedy and I hope this October 21 ensures another hit for him. I’m very fond of Sivakarthikeyan and inspired by his progress. I can’t wait to watch the film,” Vijay Deverakonda shared.
Rana extended a hearty welcome to Sivakarthikeyan into Telugu cinema and conveyed his wish to see him in many more Telugu films soon. Harish Shankar opined that Anudeep has a good understanding of middle-class existence that helped him deliver a blockbuster like Jathi Ratnalu. The director had high words of praise for Sivakarthikeyan’s timing and S Thaman’s music. Prince director Anudeep, meanwhile, thanked the producers, technicians, crew and hoped audiences would enjoy the film.
Maria Ryaboshapka told Prince is an important film in her career and thanked the entire team behind it. “Anudeep is a fantastic director and it was wonderful to work with him. Sivakarthikeyan always encouraged me during the shoot and helped me with my lines. Please watch Prince on the big screen.” Thaman expressed his confidence on the film and added that it would resonate with crowds. Premgi Amaren, Manoj Paramahamsa, Ramjogaiah Sastry were among others who attended the event.
