Prime Video postpones the release of Kangana Ranaut's Tiku Weds Sheru, starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui

Nawazuddin Siddiqui appears to be sinking more as he navigates turbulent waters. While his personal life is dominating social media on the one hand, we also hear that the repercussions has also impacted his projects. If rumours are to be believed, it appears that Tiku Weds Sheru, starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui, will now be released later than originally planned by OTT streaming giant Amazon Prime Video.

A source with knowledge of the situation revealed details to Bollywood Hungama, saying that earlier this year, Amazon Prime Video held a major press conference where they announced a number of shows and films that were to release in 2023. Tiku Weds Sheru, starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui, was one among them. Despite there was no release date, Prime Video did indicate that the movie would be released this year. The streaming behemoth has chosen to postpone the release and put it on hold for the time being in light of the difficulties Nawaz is currently experiencing. 

Further revealing why this is happening, the source continues, “Before a film releases, there are promotions, be it a theatrical or OTT release. But with Nawaz finding himself in the eye of the storm, the OTT platform sees this as a hurdle and to avoid bad press which could damage the film, the decision was taken to postpone its release.”

While a formal announcement regarding the new date for Tiku Weds Sheru is still pending, the movie is rumoured to feature both a love drama and a dark satire. Tiku Weds Sheru, a film written and directed by Sai Kabir and produced by Kangana Ranaut under the Manikarnika Films banner, features Avneet Kaur and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the key roles.
