Premalu makers revive Oscar winner M M Keeravani's iconic track from Devaraagam; Watch the video from Naslen, Mamitha's film here

When the makers of the most recent Malayalam movie Premalu revived the renowned soundtrack that M M Keeravani composed for the 1996 Malayalam film Devaraagam, the theatres burst into laughter and excitement. Now, they have released the music video for the 2.0 version of the song, Ya Ya Yaa Yadavaa Eenikkariyam, much to the delight of the film’s fans.

Mamitha Baiju and Shyam Mohan can be seen dancing to a portion of the song in the movie. The audience found the performance of the actors in the song amusing and hilarious, even though only a small portion of it was played. In this scene, Naslen and Sangeeth Prathap's characters are shown watching Shyam Mohan and Mamitha Baiju dance at the latter's colleagues' wedding eve.

Given that Hyderabad is the setting for this romantic comedy drama, it was thought to be a fascinating decision to use this song in the movie. Premalu's director, Girish A D, has flaunted his love for Hyderabad and the Telugu language, as he stated at the film's promotional events, by using this soundtrack.

M M Keeravani’s songs for Devaraagam

Devaraagam is the third Malayalam project of Oscar winner M M Keeravani, who has predominantly worked in several languages. Even though the movie did not perform well at the box office, the music director received praise for all of the soundtracks that became increasingly popular among viewers. K S Chithra and P Unnikrishnan have sung Ya Ya Yaa Yadavaa, featuring Sridevi and Arvind Swamy.

Premalu, an unexpected blockbuster

The romantic comedy, starring Naslen K Gafoor and Mamitha Baiju in the lead roles, has become an unexpected 2024 blockbuster. The film's outstanding box office performance has been greatly aided by the positive reviews it has received from both critics and viewers.

Premalu revolves around the lives of Sachin and Reenu. Sachin fails to express love because of his shyness and fear. When he first meets Reenu, an IT specialist from Hyderabad, he falls in love and has an excuse to stay back in the city. The main theme of the movie is how Sachin wins over Reenu.
