Premalu Box Office – The romantic comedy helmed by Girish AD, which hit the big screens on February 9, 2024, has now emerged as one of the biggest Malayalam blockbusters of recent times. The movie, which features Naslen and Mamitha Baiju in the lead roles, has now entered the Rs. 100 crore club of the Malayalam film industry. When Premalu completed the first 31 days of its release, the movie has also emerged as the most profitable Malayalam film in recent times.
As per the recent updates, Premalu has now entered the Rs. 100 crore club of Malayalam cinema, when it completed the first 31 days of its release. Interestingly, the movie has now also emerged as the second Malayalam film released in February 2024 to enter the Rs. 100 crore mark at the box office, after Manjummel Boys.
Premalu has now made a total gross collection of over Rs. 53 crore from the Kerala box office alone, so far. The total domestic collection has reportedly exceeded Rs. 62.8 crore. Meanwhile, the recently released Telugu version of the movie has collected more than Rs. 2 crore. The overseas box office, on the other hand, has reportedly touched the Rs. 37.2 crore mark.
Now, it has also been confirmed that Premalu has emerged as the most profitable film produced by the Malayalam film industry, in recent times. As reported earlier, the romantic comedy which is bankrolled by popular actor Fahadh Faasil and actor-filmmaker Dileesh Pothan, was made with a total budget of less than Rs. 10 crore. In that case, the romantic comedy has now made 10 times its budget from the box office.
The massive success of the Naslen-Mamitha Baiju starrer also proves that it is indeed possible to achieve great commercial success, even if a film is not headlined by popular stars. Despite dealing with a familiar plot, the intelligent writing that majorly relies on humour, and the exceptional performance made the film an instant favourite of the audiences. Premalu has indeed set a new benchmark for South films, especially romantic comedies, with its massive success.
