Premalu, the romantic comedy helmed by Thanneer Mathan Dinangal fame director Girish AD, stars young actors Naslen K Gafoor and Mamitha Baiju in the lead roles. The much-awaited film, which hit the big screens on Friday, February 9, 2024, has opened to highly positive reviews. Premalu, which is expected to earn blockbuster status at the box office, has crossed the Rs. 1 crore mark at the box office on its first day, despite not being a star-led film.
As per the recent reports from trade experts, Premalu had an average start on its release day at the box office, with an average occupancy for the first shows. However, things changed after the FDFS, thanks to the highly positive reviews and excellent word-of-mouth publicity. The movie, which was expected to have a Rs. 50 lakh plus opening at the box office, however, collected beyond expectations and crossed the Rs. 1 crore mark on its first day.
It is indeed an excellent opening figure for the romantic comedy, which is headlined by relatively young actors. It has been confirmed that Premalu is set to have an extraordinary run at the box office, especially in domestic centres. If things follow at the same rate, the Naslen K Gafoor-Mamitha Baiju starrer has all the chances to have a great first weekend at the box office.
