Santosh Soban has already had an eventful 2023 with consecutive releases - Sridevi Shobhan Babu, Anni Manchi Sakunamule and Prem Kumar. While commercial success continues to elude him, he continues to be a top favourite of producers seeking to make a concept-driven film at a low budget. His next theatrical release is an urban romance Joruga Hushaaruga Shikaaru Podhama.

After a brief theatrical run, the film premiered on streaming platforms this weekend. Leading OTT platform Amazon Prime Video acquired the post-theatrical streaming rights of the comedy entertainer. Popular actor Abhishek Maharshi turned a writer, director with the film produced by Shiva Prasad Panneeru under Sharanga Entertainments. Anirudh Krishnamurthy is a co-writer.

The story revolves around Prem Kumar who is desperate to tie the knot. Just when he’s relieved about getting married to Nethra, elopes with a film star Roshan. The event triggers Prem to be a breakup specialist where he’s ready to play the party pooper for weddings. In a new twist, Nethra approaches Prem Kumar to cancel her wedding with Roshan. OTTplay.com's critic, while stating his opinion about the film, wrote, “Prem Kumar has an interesting premise and Santosh Soban's performance holds the fort. But it is the weak first half the audience needs to sit through to enjoy the film.” S Anant Srikar scored the music for the film edited by Garry BH. Rampy Nandigam is the cinematographer and Krishnan Sujeeth is the costume designer.
