The film, written by debutant director Sreeraj Sreenivasan, begins with an intriguing whodunnit setup. Eleven regular customers of a toddy shop stay back one night, drinking and playing cards. But the next day, the shop owner is found dead, and CI Santhosh sets out to crack the case as he deduces it to be a murder.

Basil Joseph-led Pravinkoodu Shappu cast

Basil Joseph, who has transitioned into lead roles with movies such as Jan. E. Man, headlines this murder mystery thriller. Even in the role of a cop, Basil has been able to bring his distinct style of performance which sets him apart from other actors of his generation. Basil is ably supported by other remarkable talents such as Soubin Shahir and Chemban Vinod Jose. While Soubin Shahir has impressed with movies such as Sudani from Nigeria, Chemban Vinod Jose has featured in several intriguing films such as Churuli. Chandini Sreedharan, Shabareesh Varma and Shivajith are also part of the cast.
