Pratik Gandhi and Hansal Mehta proved to be a deadly combination when they got together for one of the biggest Indian web series, Scam 1992. They are now coming back, this time for a series on Gandhi (of course, Mahatma Gandhi). It gets bigger, since this time, Tom Felton joins them for the show. Pratik spilled the tea on the schedule for the series, working with Hansal as well as Tom and why the show is unique.

Pratik on re-collaborating with Hansal Mehta

Stating that working with Hansal Mehta as well as Tom Felton is a ‘dream team,’ Pratik went on to tell Hindustan Times, “It is fun to collaborate with him.” The actor promised that the story brings a fresh perspective, which nobody has read or studied, on the Father of the Nation.

On first collaboration with Tom Felton

Not only Tom Felton, Gandhi marks Pratik Gandhi’s first collaboration with International artistes. The actor spoke about his fulfilling journey and went on to add that with faces from outside of India will bring a lot of authenticity to the story. “I am supercharged about this addition,” he said, adding that thanks to faces from outside India, there will be a wider audience that would be interested in the subject.

Details of the show and schedule

Pratik will start shooting with the Harry Potter actor Tom Felton in London in June. He had otherwise started shoot in February and has already filmed in Mumbai and Gujarat.

Other actors who are a part of the series include Libby Mai, Molly Wright, Ralph Adeniyi, James Murray, Lindon Alexander, Jonno Davies and Simon Lennon. Of course, Pratik will play the role of Mahatma Gandhi in the series which will talk about the former PM’s time in London. Pratik’s real-life wife Bhamini Oza features in the role of his on-screen wife Kasturba Gandhi too. The series is inspired from historian Ramachandra Guha’s books, Gandhi before India and Gandhi: The Years that Changed the World.
