Nara Rohit, who rose to prominence with Baanam, has consistently surprised audiences with his out of the box choices like Prathindhi, Jyo Achyutananda, Raja Cheyyi Vesthe, Solo, Asura and Samanthakamani, to name a few. He took a brief sabbatical from films for personal reasons and is back in action with the sequel to one of his critically acclaimed films Prathindhi.
Prathinidhi 2 will mark the directorial debut of noted television journalist Murthy Devagupthapu. Commemorating the announcement, the first look poster and concept video were launched this week. The film is bankrolled by Kumar Raza Bathula, Anjaneyulu Sri Thota, Kondakalla Rajender Reddy under Vanara Entertainments.
The concept video takes you through a series of news clippings, a blast and a political stage, where Nara Rohit, who raises his hand, will stand up against all odds for the larger good. “One man will stand again, against all odds,” the makers caption the film. The film is expected to throw light on the nexus between media and politicians and how it affects the common man.
Prathindhi 2 will release in theatres on January 25, 2024 for the Republic Day weekend. Bholaa Shankar composer Mahati Swara Sagar is scoring the music for the project. The crew comprises noted technicians - editor Raviteja Girijala, cinematographer Nani Chamidisetty, art director Kiran Kumar Manne and stunt director Siva Raju.
For the uninitiated, Nara Rohit is the nephew of former AP CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu. He’s the son of the latter’s brother Nara Ramamurthy Naidu. Prathinidhi 2 is the 19th film in the career of the actor, who was last seen in Veera Bhoga Vasantha Rayalu and Aatagallu in 2018. One can’t wait to see how the actor will adapt to the ever-changing industry and tastes of audiences.
