With Mammootty-starrer Bramayugam, director Rahul Sadasivan brought out a period folk horror movie in black and white that had Mammootty playing a negative character and still was able to script a successful story. Now, Rahul Sadasivan is reportedly in talks to make another horror thriller, and this time, the name of Pranav Mohanlal, the son of Mohanlal, is doing the rounds. Read on to learn the latest reports about this exciting project from Mollywood.
Pranav Mohanlal, who last starred in Vineeth Sreenivasan’s Varshangalkku Shesham alongside Dhyan Sreenivasan, is far removed from the limelight and the buzz of showbiz. But some online portals claim that Pranav could star in Rahul Sadasivan’s next directorial.
Several film trackers have shared the update on Twitter, claiming that the film will be shot over a 40-day period with the filming expected to commence in January or February next year. The film is reported to be co-produced by the director himself along with Y Not Studios. However, there has been no official confirmation regarding this project.
Pranav, who made his debut as a lead actor with Jeethu Joseph’s Aadhi, has only starred in a couple of films. The Hindi version of the Malayalam film Aadhi is available on ZEE5 and OTTplay Premium. His next film Irupathiyonnaam Noottaandu, which is available on Prime Video, failed to make any waves at the box office at the time of its release.
He starred in Vineeth Sreenivasan’s coming-of-age romantic drama in 2022, which was much loved by the fans. The film, which also starred Kalyani Priyadarshan and Darshana Rajendran, is available for streaming on Hotstar. You can watch his last film Varshangalkku Shesham on SonyLiv and OTTplay Premium.
Despite being the son of a much-loved and celebrated star in Kerala, Pranav shies away from public events and has hardly given any interviews. The last we heard, Pranav was working at a farm in Spain, as informed by his mother Suchitra Mohanlal during an interview.
On the other hand, director Rahul Sadasivan’s film Bramayugam is also available on SonyLiv and OTTplay Premium.
