The makers of Prakashan Parakkatte, which is slated for a theatrical release on June 17, had earlier announced that Gautham Menon will unveil its trailer. The Kollywood filmmaker released the two-minute video from his Twitter page.
Dileesh Pothan plays the protagonist in the feel-good family drama which has Saiju Kurup, Mathew Thomas, Nisha Sarang and Sreejith Ravi among others essaying pivotal characters. Dhyan Sreenivasan, who has written the screenplay for the project, appears in a cameo in the film which has been helmed by Shahad. Aju Varghese is another actor who will be seen in a short, yet notable character.
Visakh Subramaniam, Tinu Thomas and Aju Varghese have jointly produced Prakashan Parakatte under Funtastic Films and Hit Makers Entertainments which has cinematography by Guru Prasad and music composed by Shaan Rahman.
Rathin Radhakrishnan and Shaji Mukund have handled editing and art direction respectively for the movie which has Manu Manjith and BK Harinarayanan penning lyrics for songs. Shefin Mayan and Gijumon T Brouse are at the helm of sound mixing and sound designing respectively. The movie which was announced in 2020 was wrapped up more than a year ago.
The story of the coming-of-age movie revolves around the relationship between a middle-aged disciplined father and his ambitious teenage son. How the latter sets out to achieve his dreams despite the former denying permission to leave the home forms the rest of the story. Among all actors, Saiju Kurup's funny expressions and one-liners stand out in the trailer.
The digital rights of the project is said to have been bagged by Zee5. An official announcement on its OTT release is expected to be made a couple of weeks after the film's theatrical release. The film will take on Vishnu G Raghav's Vaashi, starring Tovino Thomas and Keerthy Suresh in lead roles, at the box office.
