Actor and politician Prakash Raj seem to be very upset about Sudeep throwing his weight behind the BJP party in the upcoming assembly elections in Karnataka. He tweeted Sudeep a stern word of caution, suggesting that the Vikrant Rona star was now answerable to people.

"Dear Sudeep.. as an artist loved by everyone one.. I had expected you to be a voice of the people. But you have chosen to colour yourself with a political party .. WELL .. Get ready to answer ..every question a citizen will ask YOU and YOUR party . @KicchaSudeep #justasking," Prakash tweeted.

On Wednesday, the media was buzzing with the reports of Sudeep taking a political plunge. And the reports had garnered mixed reactions with many, including Prakash dismissing the reports as "fake news."

Sudeep, on the other hand, had been apolitical until now . His decision to campaign for the BJP had taken many by surprise. Sudeep justified his decision by saying that it was his duty towards Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai , who he endearingly calls 'mama', meaning uncle.

"When I was entering the film industry about 27 years ago, it was mama (Basavaraj Bommai) who stood by me and supported me in that difficult phase. If I am not wrong, he was foraying into politics around the same time. So, when he has done that, it is my duty to support him and I will do it in my best capacity," Sudeep said while adding that he won't be contesting elections.

It's safe to assume that Prakash, who is a staunch critic of the BJP, now perceives even Sudeep as his newest political rival. Prakash and Sudeep have worked together in the 2015 family drama Ranna, which was the Telugu remake of Attarintiki Daredi.

Prakash Raj, a National Award-winning actor, joined politics in 2018 with the launch of his political outfit, the Prakash Raj party. He contested the 2019 Lok Sabha elections as an independent candidate from the Bengaluru Central constituency but lost. However, he did not give up on his political aspirations and continues to be an active voice in the political arena.
