Pradhan: Dev, Soumitrisha’s film goes on the floors

Finally, the eagerly awaited days have arrived. The hit trio, producer Atanu Roychoudhuri, director Avijit Sen, and actor Dev’s Pradhan went to the floors on Friday. Along with the superstar, the fans of Soumitrisha, who have been waiting anxiously for so long, can now rejoice. Sharing a photo, the news is being shared with their devoted fans by Dev himself. 

A segment of netizens is delighted with this news. In addition to Dev and Soumitrisha, Paran Bandopadhyay and Sabitri Chattopadhyay will also be seen in this film. Like Projapoti, the screenplay is by Atanu Raychaudhuri. 

Soumitrisha, drenched in Kolkata’s rainy weather, has shared a story from inside her car. In her lap, she holds the script of Pradhan. In Dev’s shared photo, his name ‘Deepak Pradhan’ is written on his nameplate. Interestingly, Dev’s real name is Deepak Adhikari and the first name is used in this film. Actor-producer Dev, sharing the photo, wrote, “If everything goes well, we will meet during Christmas. Shooting begins today. #Pradhan”

Through Pradhan, Soumitrisha begins her career on the big screen. Before selecting Soumitrisha as the heroine for the film, Dev informed a news agency, “Nowadays, I am more focused on character-oriented films. Just as in Bagha Jatin I changed my hairstyle to match his look and imitated his walk, we wanted someone similar to his wife's character as well. We advertised for such qualities. That’s where we found Srija. The same goes for Pradhan. The character that is there fits very well with Soumitrisha. In the case of character-oriented films, we are making an effort like that.”

Currently, Byomkesh O Durgo Rohoshyo is running in theatres. Through this film, Rukmini Maitra is seen in the role of Satyabati. And Ambarish Bhattacharya plays the character of Ajit. The film released on August 11 has already made more than a crore at the box office.
