It was announced earlier that director Lokesh Kanagaraj will unveil the first look and title of one of Prabhu Deva's upcoming projects. The Master filmmaker took to his Twitter page to reveal the same. He tweeted, Here is the exciting first look of @PDdancing's #Musasi, Directed by debutant @samrodrigues23, Produced by #JohnBritto of #JoyFilmBoxEntertainment (sic)".
Prabhu is seen in a fierce look holding a rod in his right hand. The background of the poster has a pile of boxes which have deadly weapons in it. The boxes have 'Chennai Greater Police' and 'Tamil Nadu Armory' written over them. Another poster which was released later by the makers has dismantled guns, bullets and sharpened knife.
Going by the posters, the movie is likely to be a full-fledged action thriller which has Prabhu playing a cop. The last time he was seen in a cop's role was in Pon Manickavel (streaming on Disney+ Hotstar). The actor-filmmaker's previous outing was Theal which released in theatres a month ago.
Musasi has been directed by Sam Rodrigues; the film has been produced by John Britto of Joy Film Box Entertainment. Prasadh SN has composed music for the project which has cinematography by Vignesh Vasu and editing by Antony.
Vignesh Jayapal has written dialogues for the movie which has art direction by Mayapandi and stunt choreography by Suresh. Prabhu Deva currently has seven Tamil films in his kitty, including the long-pending Yung Mung Sung and Bagheera.
It was recently that announcements on projects like Flash Back, My Dear Bootham and Rekla were made. Poikkal Kuthirai was announced last year while Oomai Vizhigal was made official in 2019. This is probably for the first time after a long time that the actor-filmmaker-choreographer has announced a lot of films as an actor.
